The collect endpoint's contract, for a site or app that sends events itself instead of using a.js: the URL, the fields, the limits (body bytes, u length, event name, props), the rate limit, when a visit ends, how single-page apps are counted (no server-side dedupe), what is dropped and how each refusal answers. Answers 'can I send pageviews from my own code' and 'is a repeat pageview counted'. Same for every client. Free.

Parameters

Idempotency-Keystringheader
Any unique string, up to 200 characters. A retry with the same key and body is answered from the first answer (Idempotent-Replayed: true) for a day, so it never buys or writes twice; the same key with another body is refused.
