Web analytics is a small, cookieless script on the client's site. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on the visitor's device. Browsers sending Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control aren't counted, and nor are visits from localhost.

  1. Create the snippet

Open the client's Web analytics page. If the client has no website on record, say which hostnames the script will run on, then choose Create snippet.

  2. Install it

Copy the snippet with Copy snippet and paste it into the <head> of every page on the site. It looks like this:

    <script defer data-site="YOUR_SITE_KEY" src="https://seolyticize.com/a.js"></script>
  3. Check it works

The page waits for the first visit and updates by itself once the script reports.

Allowed hostnames lists the sites the script may count visits for; change it on the same page.

Custom events

Record a sign-up or a booking from the site's own code:

seolyticize("event", "Signup", { plan: "pro" })

Up to 10 properties per event. Add data-track="outbound downloads" to the script tag to record outbound links and file downloads too.

What you see

Visitors per day, top pages, entry and exit pages, and custom events. Without cookies, a person returning on another day is counted again.
